The annual meeting of YHYS ry, the Finnish Society for Environmental Social Sciences, was held on 28th November at LUT University, in connection to YHYS colloquium.

The meeting chose Pasi Heikkurinen from the LUT University to continue as the chair of YHYS board. Roosa Wingström from University of Vaasa was elected as the vice-chair.

The membership fees for 2025 remain the same: 25e / 12e student /50e or other sum as a support membership.

The society will continue its established activities in 2025, such as Politiikkadialogi together with Ympäristötiedon foorumi, the Fall Colloquium (to be held at University of Oulu in 2025), the Master’s thesis award, and publishing the Versus online platform with other societies. In 2025, YHYS will also develop new events – you will hear more about these plans next year! YHYS also publishes the Alue ja ympäristö journal, which is the most important domestic journal for environmental social sciences.
